Competition Time!

As you may know, if you’ve followed our facebook or Twitter posts, we’ve got a competition going on.  A lovely lady donated to us this group of cuddly animals:

(poor guys)

These guys are, worn, torn, missing bits, and generally not suitable for a charity shop to sell.  But we sure don’t want to put them in the bin!  So our competition is this:  Who can think of the best idea for upcycling these guys?  Answers in the comments (here or on our facebook page) and the winner will be chosen by Re-Creations Cambridge Group next Wednesday.  We’ve had some seriously cool suggestions so far!

Oh, and by the way, the winner will receive one of our super-duper awesome sweet wrapper bracelets like this one:

Come on, you know you want it!

We’ll keep you updated and let you know all about the winner and their stupendous idea later in the week!

We have had fabulous suggestions for what to make with these guys, including hot water bottle covers, rucksacks, pet beds, ear muffs and more.  So how to pick a winner?  Well, I carefully made a note of all suggestions and took it to the Wednesday group to decide.  Result:  Ummmmm…  Actually, we got a little (ok a lot) distracted with making rubber moustaches.  And we forgot to pick a winner.

I know, you were on the edge of your seat, right?  So I promise, we’ll do it next week–and we’ll throw in a bonus ‘stache to boot!

  1. I saw somewhere online (but haven’t been successful in searching for it) a site that mentioned someone who carefully cuts the usable fur from the stuffed animals and makes blankets or quilts by piecing the fur together. Maybe you could do that with them?
